@ACPress
ACPress started back when DOS, floppy disks, Windows 3.1, and dial-up
modems were big deals.
We produced
radio reports talking tech on several radio networks and individual
stations in the US and even Australia. The need for more how-to
information led us to publish a series unique audio tutorials. These
included the very popular "What is
Windows?" and "What's a Modem?" With help from us, thousands of people learned how to use their first computer! We are proud of what we did and who we partnered with (IBM, Lexar and others).
We
continue to publish and explain things! Our main focus today is the
rapidly changing world of digital cameras. Our CD, web articles and continuing radio reports still help a lot of
people use them properly! Jack Socha (also known in his on-air days as "John Stewart," is a regular guest on Wisconsin Public Radio (wpr.org) and is fininishing a the book version of the digital camera CD! Sometimes it's easy to forget how much computer use has changed over the years. Want a blast from the past? This link shows some of our early writing: http://web.archive.org/web/*/http://acpress.com . We cringe at some of it, the same way we do with 80's haircuts or 70's pants. But the info was good at the time and we may even repost some golden oldies! You can also go to www.waybackmachine.org and type in many URLs to see their archive of older web pages. | |
