Background Information

Short Summary (details are below)

Since 1991, Audio Computer Information has been John's "umbrella" for a variety of services and projects. ACI produced retail products, weekly radio reports, custom audio recordings, Internet content, magazine articles, and even a nationally syndicated radio show.

ACI started with audio tutorials for computer beginners. They were featured in Inc., Entrepreneur, Nation's Business, The New York Post, Washington Times, The New York Times, The London Daily Mail, WIRED and many more.

Today, John still provides instructional material, magazine articles, "voice work" and writing for consumers, industry and non-profits. In short, he still explains things in a clear and entertaining way, in a variety of media.

The mixed media PC CD "How To Use The Digital Camera You Just Bought!" is his latest project.

More Details

John started in radio broadcasting in 1981. After gaining major market experience with top rated WTMJ in Milwaukee, he spent five years hosting the award-winning "Morning Report" at news-talk giant WOAI in San Antonio.

In Texas, John also became known in computer circles. His first national media exposure was in Toshiba Microlife Magazine as they profiled his work on and off the air with something new: a "laptop" computer!

John left morning radio to form Audio Computer Information in 1991, but continued to use his familiar "radio name" of John Stewart for many projects. The first ACI products were popular cassette guides for new computer users, and The Radio Computer Magazine, a nationally syndicated radio show on the Sun Radio Network.

In late 1994 requests for more writing left no time for The Radio Computer Magazine. John continued weekly live reports on the Business Talk Network and spent two years as the Baltimore "computer guy" on the popular WBAL morning show.

At the same time John's radio reports also went international with regular commentary on Australia's nationally broadcast Triple-M network computer show "Byte This!"

In late 1999 John produced a unique mixed media PC CD tutorial for first-time digital camera buyers.  "How To Buy Your First Digital Camera" received critical praise and became a cover story of a major photo magazine. The content was quickly licensed for commercial web site use by a leading name in the digital camera industry.

Today, the need has shifted to understanding "how to use the digital camera you just bought." That's why the new mixed media CD with plenty of friendly audio has been released.

John also teaches extension classes covering technology at a local college. Another tutorial, a PC CD for first-time eBay sellers is based on more than five years of those classes.
